We are proud Hamiltonians at Hamilton Glass Experts and beyond providing great auto glass services to our city, we love to give back by experiencing and promoting some of the great attractions in our cities. Here’s one of our favourites!

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum is a fun place for anyone who loves airplanes or is interested in aviation. In Hamilton, there are a lot of things that might strike your fancy, but the 50 displays of Canada’s military airplanes is an exhibit that shouldn’t be missed. There are planes that date back as far as WW2, and several of the craft on display is still able to fly.

There are things like this that can make someone really appreciates the true valor and worth of the heroism that lurks in the depths of our hearts. How important does an airplane have to be to get its very own museum filled with memorials and monuments? These are important questions that visitors will find the answers to when they view the wondrous displays at the museum.

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum opens early at 9 am, and closes at 5 pm every day of the week, so you can get your dose of aviation history with ease. Admission for adults is affordably priced at $15, senior visitors and students 13-17 are $13, youth aged 6- 12 are $10,  children 5 and under may visit the museum free of cost with an accompanying adult. There is free parking at the museum, as well overflow parking at Hamilton airport.

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum is jam-packed with memorabilia from war operations starting from WW2 until now. From equipment to badges, and from weapons to land and air vehicles, this museum can not only give you a great idea about how things were like for the Canadian Air Corps then but also picture the amount of courage and heroism needed to undertake the trials that they have successfully passed. Inside, you will find the gear, the parachutes, the uniforms and the weapons that were used throughout times, and various other memorabilia, including the P.O.W.-M.I.A.

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum does feature planes that still fly, as such, there will be times when certain models are not on display. These planes are used in various flight shows across the country and abroad, so if you would like to see a specific airplane, it's best to call in advance to be sure that it will be available during your scheduled visit.

For visitors that want to take a hands-on approach, you can climb into the cockpit of various planes or take a ride on the F-18 Hornet flight simulator. It’s nothing like a video game, and very much like an actual flight. There is no actual flight experience required, and pre-flight training will be provided during your visit to the simulator. The museum also has summer camps and education sleepovers for kids, schools, or families who are looking for a more in-depth approach to aviation and aero history.

This museum will remain a statement of the heroism and bravery that the human heart, mind, and soul is capable of for generations to come!
